Electric Summer Days
Electric summer days is series of 5 animations, with poetic feminine subtle line illustrations, looping, or controlled by viewer’s movement. The goal was to make the connection between drawings and digital, virtual immersive image spaces, merging different forms into new one. Using parallax movement, object rotation, change of size, perspective shortening, relative sizes and overlapping of objects, this research tries to achieve depth of space.
Idea is to explore 360 degree animated drawing on a web site. Beside, VR environment with drawings, explored in conventional ways there is a possibility of viewing parts of the panorama, using the position of the mouse on the screen or position of viewer in front of web camera or alternatively movement sensors.
All 5 animations can be seen as animated gifs made for IKA album “my bike’s in the backyard it was too cold for my horse” and don’t ask us why it is set at the swimming pool.
